Relieve the misery of menopause symptoms with Ladycare

23 Jan 2007

Results from a recent national survey of 508 women have shown that using Ladycare, a small discreet static magnetic product that comfortably attaches itself to the underwear over the abdomen can significantly reduce menopause symptoms.

Ladycare is produced by Magnopulse, the only UK manufacture of magnetic healthcare devices to have products available on prescription through the NHS.

There are twenty-three major symptoms with which women can normally suffer during the menopause including hot flushes, night sweats, irritability, vaginal dryness, marked fatigue and insomnia.  As part of the survey these symptoms were rated before and after using Ladycare and all twenty-three symptoms had considerably decreased over the three-month trial period, to include weight loss.

The 508 women who took part in the survey responded to an advertisement in a national newspaper inviting them to take part in a trial. No exclusions were made but all women had to be suffering with menopause symptoms.  As part of the study, the women were required to wear a Ladycare product. They were asked to report their symptoms over the following three months.

In the recent trial (Eccles 2006), women reported a 50-67% reduction in the following symptoms: anxiety, feelings of doom, sudden weight gain, increased muscle tension, mood swings, marked fatigue, vaginal dryness, sleeping problems, urinary incontinence, breast tenderness and stomach bloating and gas.

There was also a 33% reduction in other symptoms including hot flushes, night sweats, irritability, loss of libido, inability to concentrate, sore and painful muscles and disturbing lapses of memory. The same benefits were recorded by the women (8.1%) who had undergone hysterectomy as did those who were taking HRT (7.1%) whilst on the trial. The survey also showed a 100% reduction in uncomfortable and embarrassing stomach problems such as bloating.

Not only did many of the women on the trial report that they noticed their skin was softer and their hair appeared healthier, but almost 100 (19.1%) enjoyed a median weight loss of 14lbs (8-17lbs) over the three months of the trial.

“The results that we observed in relief of menopause symptoms are very encouraging,” says Dr Nyjon Eccles, the medical doctor who conducted the study. “We do not know exactly how this is working but we are in the process of investigating this further.  We have shown previously that a similar device seems to relieve period pain significantly in 3 out of 4 women.
