Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists launch PMS guidelines

NAPS Chairman and Consultant Gynaecologist, Nicholas Panay, has written a new set of PMS guidelines for The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
The first edition of Management of Premenstrual Syndrome aims to help guide health professionals dealing with patients with severe PMS through the wide range of information on causation and diagnostic methodologies and treatments, so that they can be clear about the best options to offer patients.The guideline defines PMS and diagnosis discussing management guidelines on a whole range of treatments without using pharmacological drugs, including diet and lifestyle, nutritional supplements, herbs, pollen extract and light therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, managing PMS with hormonal drugs and SSRIs and SNRIs and surgical intervention.
The new guidelines will be available to download on line from The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists next year.
