More women over 40 seeking fertility treatment

According to a recent survey the number of women over 40 looking for fertility treatment has increased 10-fold in the last 15 years.
The figures, taken from the UK fertility watchdog show and published in the BMJ recently, show that one in seven women seeking fertility treatment in 2006 was between 40 and 45, compared with less than one in 10 in 1991. (Human Fertilisationion and Embryology Authority). The average age of a woman seeking fertility treatment was 34.8 in 2004 compared with 33.8 in 1992.
