TEEN SPA OF EMBARRASSING ILLNESSES
WE NEED 16-19 YEAR OLDS FOR THIS AMBITIOUS TV SERIES
TERN TV are making a new series of The Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses for UKTV Style. This time we are looking for teenagers. The show has proved to be UKTV Style's most successful series and has gained a great deal of acclaim.
We are looking for teenagers who suffer a huge amount of cultural stigma as a result of suffering from one of society's more "embarrassing illnesses". These may include extreme cases of irritable bowel syndrome, skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis or eczema, persistent over-eating disorder, obesity, severe PMT, recurring cystitis, yeast infections and phobias. We are also interested in helping teens who suffer from mental health issues such as self-harming or anxiety and depression. This list is by no means exhaustive and we are willing to explore any sorts of illnesses that can have a devasting affect on people, both socially and emotionally.
We are offering five teenagers the opportunity to have these illnesses treated in an intensive "health programme" at a luxury Health Spa run by leading experts in holistic and alternative medicines. The Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses aims to beat the taboo that underlies what are increasingly common ailments but which are rarely dealt with by conventional medicine, or indeed conventional television. The philosophy that underpins the creation of the Spa is the establishment of a true place of healing where people can come to rejuvenate and relax.
We want people who have illnesses that are hampering them from achieving proper happiness and their full potential in life. We are searching for good characters who suffer from a variety of "stigmatised" ailments and who are willing to share their "cure stories" with us. We will follow the physical, psychological and emotional journeys taken by people brave enough to face up to their illnesses.
We are not intending to poke fun at any of these illnesses. The show has built up a reputation of dealing very sensitively with the range of conditions it has covered.
The Spa draws on centuries of global naturopathic techniques and brings together a vast amount of expertise from some of the leading practitioners in modern alternative health therapy. We want to highlight the profound physical and psychological effects these illnesses have on people, and we hope to break a few taboos in the process. We are offering very real alternative forms of treatment which have already proved that they can change people's lives for the better. Whilst we are not able to guarantee a cure, we are offering a specially designed health programme that is overseen by a "family" of experts who we believe can radically change lifestyles and could revolutionise the way these "illnesses" are treated in the future.
If would like to be part of this ambitious television series, or know someone who might wish to "change" his or her life around, then please get in touch with one of the team (contact details below) who will be happy to discuss things in more detail.
