Update of Clinical Guidelines

A generous grant from Bayer Schering supporting NAPS
NAPS given the opportunity by Bayer Schering Pharma to update Clinical Guidelines
A generous grant by Bayer Schering Pharma will allow NAPS to update our Clinical Guidelines. These were originally produced in 2000 and since then have been an invaluable tool for medical professionals in the clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of PMS. Also, with a summary being made available to members of the Association, they have provided assistance to sufferers both in understanding their condition and in accessing appropriate treatment from their GPs.
A revision of the existing guidelines in the light of current knowledge and practice is now necessary. Nick Panay, NAPS Chairman, with the other NAPS clinical advisers, will decide what information needs to be included. The new booklet will then be designed and printed.
It is intended that every GP practice will receive a copy of the new guidelines and the distribution cost will also be met by the grant. As now, a treatment chart will also be available to members.
We also hope to prepare and make available, supplementary information on, for example, complementary and alternative therapies.
In undertaking this venture, we are ensuring that NAPS properly fulfils its commitment to PMS sufferers by disseminating accurate, updated, information to the medical practitioners responsible for their care.
We thank Bayer Schering Pharma for making this possible.
