Psychiatric Diagnosis at the University of Liverpool
Mood swings, anxiety, obsessions, compulsions - the research may help
Gemma has written to NAPS. Her research project is psychiatric diagnosis. She wishes to interview people with experience of mental health difficulties, including low or high mood, any kind of anxiety, hearing voices, and more!
If you experience any of these symptoms Gemma would like to interview you! The interview takes between 30 and 60 minutes and could be carried out at a convenient location for you, such as your home or an NHS facility near you. She is happy to travel within the North West region, she can also pay your travel expenses if you have any. If you live further away than this, then Gemma invites you to ring her to try to make other arrangements.
This research will form part of Gemma's doctorate in clinical psychology and has been approved by the University of Liverpool's research committee. It is hoped that the findings will be published and add to the literature that aims to improve diagnostic practices in the future.
Gemma would be happy to answer any queries about the research - contacting her does not mean that you have to take part. Her telephone numbers are: 0151 794 5534 AND 0151 794 5530. Her e-mail address is: gparker@liv.ac.uk
Last date for interviews is 31st March 2008.
