Fun and fund raising

Save yourself money and fund raise for NAPS at the same time

 Host a clothes swap.

In these challenging times we are all trying to cut down on what we spend and here's a good idea that will save you money, raise funds for NAPS and provide some much needed fun.

Decide on a date and time. Invite as many women as you think your house/flat can accommodate. Ask them to bring along between five and ten items of clothing, shoes and accessories. All these can be displayed in one or two rooms (if you can organise some real or makeshift clothes rails all the better) and another room, maybe a bedroom, with at least one long mirror, can be used as a changing room.

Tickets are given to everyone in exchange for all the items they have brought and people put their names on the tickets they receive. Everything is given exactly the same value.

Once somebody decides they want an article they pin a ticket on it and then it becomes theirs.

By all accounts these clothes swapping events can be very enjoyable and to add to the occasion you may well want to provide a few goodies in the way of something to eat and drink.

A suggested donation from each guest for NAPS is £10.

We think that a lot of women would support such an event. They would be able to improve their wardrobe at minimal cost, recycle items they no longer want and enjoy a sociable occasion, all in the knowledge that this was raising money for a worthwhile cause.

With just four clothes swapping events, with 25 attending each one, NAPS would be £1000 better off! Simple really.

All that's needed now is YOU. Keep the NAPS office informed of any developments and many thanks in advance to anyone prepared to help other sufferers by supporting the work of NAPS in this way.
