NAPS in Scotland

Brave Donna, true to her promise, promotes NAPS in Scotland

Donna in Scotland
Donna, who has featured in recent bulletins has contacted NAPS to say.
"I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to promote my business at the Scottish Baby Show at the SECC, which attracted 11,000 visitors over the weekend. I had information with me about NAPS, and passed this on to many women. I also made a fab link with the Scottish Association for Mental Health SAMH, and passed on details of NAPS, as I’m sure that there are many women out there who, as we see here on the forums, have been misdiagnosed or turned away from getting the right help.

As with every condition, knowledge is the key to empowerment, and if I can help ensure more people are aware that PMDD/severe PMS exists, then people will be better informed and more able to seek the help they need. 'Man Flu' is better known than PMDD/severe PMS and it’s not even a real condition!!. I’m currently receiving quite intensive treatment, and when I’m feeling 100% I will be seeking out funding to help raise awareness of this condition in Scotland. My mission is to put together an informative pack for GPs, to highlight the real need for a better understanding.”

NAPS is delighted that Donna is prepared to take a leading role on behalf of NAPS in Scotland. We understand that she has already had some encouraging news regarding the possibility of public funding for her project and that she has been interviewed by a journalist for an article in the Scottish Daily Record. Donna would be very pleased to hear from any Scottish members who would like to get involved in helping her, both to raise the awareness of PMS and to publicise the work of NAPS. Get in touch with her through contact@pms.org.uk or by writing to the NAPS office at 41 Old Road, East Peckham, Kent TN12 5AP.
