Debbie tells us why she is becoming a NAPS volunteer

About a year ago I was trying to understand what I was going through, I was feeling very unlike myself every month or so and finally realised the connection between my symptoms and my cycle.  It was after some time that I decided to try and take control of my moods and physical symptoms, firstly for myself but also for the people close to me who have to put up with these fluctuations.

I searched online and when I found NAPS I couldn't believe there were so many women experiencing similar issues to me, NAPS has been a great help ever since.  It has been a source of useful information and the comfort of knowing that other women are going through the same thing as me has been a great help.

I have been thinking about the wonderful advice and support that NAPS provides and decided that I would like to volunteer to help by providing any assistance I can.  By day I am a web developer and am very happy to use these skills to help out with the NAPS website, along with any other assistance I can provide.

I would like to thank the people of NAPS for setting up and maintaining the organisation and for helping out women who live with PMS and related issues.  It is always good to know when you are not alone.

NAPS is delighted to welcome Debbie on board. It was that sense of gratitude for the help that women received from Dr Katharina Dalton in the 1980s, to regain control of their lives that was the original inspiration for the founding of NAPS. There was a commitment by those women to providing access to appropriate treatment for all PMS sufferers. That is still the guiding principle of NAPS today.
