Dee's Story

I have just read the story about Miriam on your stories page and it was like
a bolt hitting me because I felt it was my exact story, every word of it. I
wonder if there is any way of getting in touch with Miriam to find out about
the spray and the Dr. as I have no support.

I am 33 and my story starts 3 years ago after I had moved to London. My
drink was spiked and I woke up five hours later realizing what this 60 year
old stranger had done. I was tested at the hospital, but ended up pregnant.

I left London and had a termination in a private clinic in Liverpool, but
unfortunately I should have been well home by 2pm and 10pm I was still in
and out of consciousness in unbelevable pain with my mum downstairs on her
own, the nurses had turned all the lights off and not even told her what was
happening, they wanted us to leave so they could all go home... so they
carried me to the car and told me I shouldn`t go to the Women`s Hospital as
they don`t agree with Terminations!!!!!! So mum didn`t know what to do and
she watched over me all night.

I have never once regretted having the termination as you can imagine but
over six months I started getting very ill, and realized it must be hormones
as I felt I was on a rollercoaster ride minute to minute. I was unable to
wear clothes, needed dark quiet rooms, I was so sensitive. I cried till I
was on the floor and felt I was going insane. I wanted to run away or end
it all. This wasn`t just a couple weeks a month it was every single day.
The thing was, I knew I wasn`t depressed, I had a lovely job and lovely
family and friends around me. I was ill and I was sick of being told it was
because I was upset about `what had happened`. I don`t dwell on that
experience ever, I get on with life. I am a naturally bubbly lively fun
person who has traveled the world working on Cruise ships as a fitness
instructor, things happen, get on with it...

I met a great man from Croatia who I soon married, he is so supportive and
loving. I went on the mini pill in December 03 and within a week I was
perfect again! Cerezette has saved my life! Only thing is I haven`t had a
period for 6 months, gained lots of weight and I have started to feel
exhausted and hormonal again. I hope it passes.

After I moved from London to Liverpool (home) I decided to set up a website
www.friend-ships.com to enable ships passengers and crew to locate and email
each other. I have listed 100,000 ships of all types dating back to 1940.
There are nearly 5,000 people on there now!

I also work for a well paying company in Liverpool for the past 6 months and
travel with my boss all over the place, but I feel I will have to give it up
as it can be 20 hour days. I have never written to a support group before
but this has helped knowing others are having the same problem, I am not
crazy.

I would like very much to get involved with your organization, in any
capacity I could. I love to talk on stage and would like to share my
experiences with others if it could help...
